Booking terms & conditions
1. Who these terms are with
Elif is a restaurant at 22 Castle Street, Liverpool L2 0NE, operated by [to be confirmed — registered company name and number]. These terms apply to reservations made with us, whether online, by telephone or in person.
2. Booking confirmation
All reservations are subject to availability. A confirmation email will be sent once your booking is successfully made. Please check all details carefully, as amendments on the day may not be possible.
3. Card details, charges and cancellations
To secure your reservation, valid card details are required at the time of booking. Your card details are held securely through a PCI-compliant payment gateway, and are not charged at the time of booking.
By providing your card details you authorise us to charge £10 per person if the booking policy is not met. This includes:
- late cancellations, made within 24 hours of your booking;
- reductions in guest numbers within 24 hours;
- failure to attend your booking (a no-show).
This secure process — card tokenisation — helps reduce no-shows and protects the business from last-minute cancellations, while keeping your payment details encrypted and secure.
No charge is made if you attend your booking, or if you cancel with at least 24 hours' notice.
4. Arrival, and late arrivals
We kindly ask all guests to arrive promptly. A 15-minute grace period is allowed; after that we reserve the right to release your table.
If you expect to be late, please tell us as soon as you can on 0151 666 0050. We will do our best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee your table will be held beyond the 15-minute grace period.
5. Group bookings
For parties of four or more, a deposit or card authentication is required to secure the booking. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking. Enquiries: info@elifcastlest.co.uk.
6. Cancellations and no-shows
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid charges. You can cancel or amend through your confirmation email, or by calling us.
- Cancellations within 24 hours will result in a charge of £10 per person.
- Reductions in guest numbers within 24 hours may also be subject to the same charge.
Guests who fail to attend without prior notice will be charged £10 per person.
7. Special days and peak periods
For special occasions and peak trading days — including but not limited to Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve — alternative booking terms may apply. Card details are required for a minimum of two guests to secure a reservation on these dates.
These bookings may also involve higher deposits or prepayments, set menus, or different cancellation periods.
By providing card details you authorise us to charge in line with the terms applicable to that specific date, including for late cancellations, reductions in guest numbers, or no-shows. All applicable terms will be made clear at the time of booking, and will override these standard conditions where stated.
8. Table duration
During busy periods, tables may be allocated for a specific duration. Where that applies, it will be confirmed at the time of booking.
9. Prices, service and payment
Prices shown on this website and on our menus include VAT. A discretionary 10% service charge will be added to your bill. Menu items, prices and availability may change — the menu in the restaurant is the one that applies on the day.
We accept [to be confirmed — accepted payment methods]. Bills are settled at the table. Any offer, set menu or voucher is subject to its own terms, including availability and expiry: [to be confirmed — whether gift vouchers are offered, and on what terms].
10. Offers and promotions
The following days are excluded from all regular offers and promotions:
- Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
- New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
- Valentine's Day
- Mother's Day
- Father's Day
- All bank holidays
11. Allergies and dietary requirements
Please tell us about any dietary requirement or allergy at the time of booking, or at least 48 hours in advance. We will do our best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee the availability of specific dishes.
If you have a food allergy or special dietary requirement, please also tell a member of our serving team when you arrive. Our dishes are prepared in a single kitchen and we cannot guarantee the absence of any allergen. Separate vegan and gluten-free menus are available, and full allergen information can be requested from your server.
12. Special requests
Special requests — a seating preference, or a celebration — should be made at the time of booking. We will do our best, but we cannot guarantee that every request can be met.
13. House rules
Dress code
We operate a smart dress code. Tracksuits, sportswear and shorts are not permitted. We appreciate your cooperation, and we reserve the right to refuse entry where the dress code is not met.
Children and highchairs
Families are very welcome, but we are only able to accommodate children before 4pm. Highchairs are available — please tell us when you book.
Behaviour
We may refuse service or ask guests to leave where behaviour affects other diners or our team.
Age and alcohol
We operate a Challenge 25 policy. If you look under 25 you may be asked for photographic ID before we serve alcohol.
Smoking
Smoking and vaping are not permitted indoors.
Health and safety
All guests are asked to comply with our health and safety policies, including any applicable government guidance.
14. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for personal belongings left on the premises.
15. Complaints
If something is not right, please tell us while you are with us so we can put it right. Otherwise, email info@elifcastlest.co.uk and we will respond.
16. General, and your agreement
We reserve the right to amend or cancel bookings in line with operational requirements. We also reserve the right to charge the card provided where a booking is made in breach of these terms.
By proceeding with your booking you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions. In agreeing to them, you acknowledge that your card may be charged £10 per person for a late cancellation, a no-show, or a reduction in guest numbers within 24 hours.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
